Under the incessant onslaught of retouched for photos of people looking at us from magazine covers day after day, you can forget about the true beauty of an ordinary person. But each of us is beautiful precisely for its uniqueness! Scars on the body - witnesses experienced by man. Perhaps they are reminiscent of the deepest, like the ocean, feelings and annoying losses. But more importantly, they tell the story of a person who has broken out of the abyss of physical suffering, a winner who has regained the inevitable and inspiring determination to love his body and life as they are.

Sylvia Mack as anyone else is familiar with such experiences. The pretty blonde who suffered merciless burns, she challenged the fashion industry and made a photo session of people whose skin does not look smooth and glossy, but has a different beauty.

The pictures taken by professional photographer Sophie Mayen depicted models of different ages and skin colors. Sylvia herself first decided to show his scars at the age of 48 years. She hopes that the project will help all those who still find it difficult to gain confidence and stop being ashamed of their appearance.

Sylvia did not set herself the task of presenting a variety of bodily deformations at a photo shoot. She wanted to unite in the project very different people.

When, during photography, people gradually gained confidence in the quality of photo models and were pleased to communicate, Sylvia hardly kept tears of joy.

A woman remembers trying to find a quiet corner during a photo shoot to cry out. For the first time in her life, she realized that she was in the company of people like her. Those who understand her feelings like no other.

Each photo sends a powerful message of hope, trust and complicity. On them are people from all walks of life who are simultaneously connected by common experience, and at the same time surprisingly unique.

And there is so much human beauty and warmth in it!
