Salo in a brine - popular not only in Ukraine, but also in Poland, the Czech Republic, Germany, Russia and many other countries. Tuzluk itself is a saturated salt solution that can be used for salting fish, meat and fat. Salo in this solution is incredibly tasty, soft and juicy.
Ingredients:
- 5 tbsp. water
- 2 kg of fat
- 1 tbsp. salt
- 5-8 cloves of garlic
- 10 pieces. black peppercorns
- 3-5 bay leaves
Cooking:
1. Bring water to a boil, reduce heat and add salt. Wait until the salt has completely dissolved.
2. Cut the lard into not very large bars and put it vertically in a three-liter jar. Place bay leaves, black peppercorns and chopped garlic between the bars.
3. Pour the pieces of bacon with the litter and loosely cover the lid with a can. Put the jar in a cool place. After 2 weeks the fat will be ready!
